Territory Blog FAQ

What Am I Paying For?
Can't I Start My Own Blog for Less?

This is such an important question! The short answer is YES, you can start your own blog on a service like Blogger, TypePad, or WordPress for much less than our territory blog.  When you decide to start a territory blog on the Aloha Living Network, you are not paying for the blogging software or the blogging technology. You are paying for two very specific services that we provide:

  1. BLOG CONTENT- You will be sent a daily writing prompt, article, or ideas to help you keep your blog updated with fresh and relevant content.  The reason blogs perform so well in search engines is due to frequently updated content. If you start your own blog, you may find it hard to think of something compelling to write about each day to keep your search engine rankings up.

With a Territory Blog, we help you avoid writer's block, as well as sending you dynamic content such as Hawaii Hotsheets, mortgage rates, and local breaking industry news to help position you as an EXPERT!

  2. BLOG MARKETING & ADVERTISING- Not only will your blog be heavily marketed and advertised on the main Real Estate Channel of AlohaLiving.com, but we will syndicate your daily blog updates to blog search engines and link network sites like del.icio.us, Technorati, digg, and Google Blog search.

Don't know what any of that means? That's okay! You sell real estate, and we'll take care of translating all of that mumbo jumbo into MORE TRAFFIC to your Blog, and your listings.

How many Bloggers Will Be in My Territory?
We are currently offering ONE Blogs per Territory. Please keep in mind that some territories may overlap, and new territories will be added on the neighborhood, subdivision, and individual condo project basis. Also, an agent or broker may request an interest category such as "Pet Friendly Big Island Rentals" or "Eco Friendly Big Island Real Estate"

What Can I Write About, and What Shouldn't I Write About?
It is best to have the majority of your content relate to your blog territory since that is how your blog will be marketed or positioned on AlohaLiving. However, you can write about anything you like. We undersand that even though you may only have the exclusive territory for a certain area, you may have something to share about other areas of the island. Feel free to write about topics and areas that interest you.

The blog territory you have purchased is only exclusive to you for purposes of The Aloha LIving Network being able to market you as the expert in a specific territory.  Other bloggers may write about topics that are also in your territory or area. The best way to gain market share in the blog network is to blog regularly about your topic or territory, and make your posts keyword heavy for your topics and territory.

Why Do Some Territories Cost More Than Others?

Territories are priced based on market activity. We have tried to make it fair across the state, and for obvious reasons, a territory such as Kailua-Kona will cost more than a territory such as Kau. Smaller markets, markets with less inventory, markets with inventory at considerably higher prices, etc are all factors considered when pricing the value of a territory.

How Long Is My Contract?
Territory Blogs are sold on a quarterly basis, and payment for the first quarter may be required upfront. Once you have successfully blogged for one quarter, you are eligible to switch to a montly payment schedule. To secure your blog placement, you may be required to pay for one quarter at the time of your order.

Your contract will automatically renew each quarter or each month, depending on your payment cycle, and will renew until you contact our sales team to cancel your blog subscription.  A 30 day cancellation notice is required in writing.
